AMANDA N. KELLY

Dr. Amanda N. Kelly, commonly known as “Behaviorbabe,” obtained her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Shepherd University, her master’s in Behavioral Education and her doctorate in Behavior Analysis from Simmons University. Dr. Kelly has experience working as a Special Education Teacher, University Professor, School Counselor, and Behavior Analyst. Over the past two decades, Dr. Kelly has worked in-homes, public and private schools, residential placements, and community settings. Dr. Kelly has been recognized and praised for her dissemination and advocacy efforts, which have led to the passage of autism insurance and licensure for behavior analysts. In 2012, Dr. Kelly was awarded the Jerry Shook Practitioner of the Year award from BABAT and 2015, she accepted the Advocacy Group of the Year award from Autism Speaks, on behalf of the Hawai’i Association for Behavior Analysis (HABA). In 2016, Dr. Kelly became the first Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state of Hawai’i. Dr. Kelly has served numerous boards and committees and is currently serving as Secretary for the Hawai’i Disability Rights Center, Legislative Chair for HABA, and as Director for the Together For Our Keiki Foundation. In addition to her expertise helping families and schools, Dr. Kelly’s interests in behavior analysis extend to dissemination, public policy, and sustainable behavior change.
